Medium WP Blue ButtonSorry for the intrusion but wanted to let you know about this issue right away. Today, WordPress released an update, which they have labeled as a critical security update. The code change is around a core portion of the software that handles HTML sanitation. In their news release WordPress stated “I realize an update during the holidays is no fun, but this one is worth putting down the eggnog for.”

You can update WordPress from the Update section of your dashboard or by downloading it here. As always, make certain to first backup your site. It also wouldn’t be a bad idea to update any plugins at the same time. If you need help with the WordPress update then just let us know. With a backup it would take 15-30 minutes. 45-60 minutes to also update any plugins and make any minor adjustments.
